About Pennsylvania Conservation Corps
The Pennsylvania Conservation Corps (PCC) is a program begun 1984.  It was developed to provide an opportunity for young, unemployed men and women ages 18 to 25 to get job training.  The training includes conservation, recreation, and historical preservation projects that improve local communities and provide skill-building opportunities for corps-members.  Some of these skills include carpentry, masonry, and landscaping.  Other training may include adult literacy tutoring, life skills instruction, vocational education, college courses, job-search workshops and the chance to earn an equivalent high school diploma.  The training each corps-member receives is custom tailored to their needs and desires when possible.
